Two-Time Emmy-Nominated Series ‘A Football Life’ Continues with Profile of Darrelle Revis Tuesday, September 17 at 9:00 PM ET
“I know I’m going to get back. I’m going to come back even better.” – Darrelle Revis, Feb. 15, 2012
“I’m still the best corner in the league.” – Revis, Sept. 10, 2013
Chronicles Revis’ Recovery from Knee Surgery & Trade to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
On September 23, 2012 in the third quarter of a Week 3 game between the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins, cornerback Darrelle Revis suffered a torn ACL, an injury that ended his season and put his future in doubt. The injury would set into motion a year in which Revis would go through an intensive rehabilitation, constant trade rumors, and eventually a move to a new team and city.
The two-time Emmy-nominated NFL Network series A Football Life continues with Darrelle Revis: A Football Life Tuesday, September 17 at 9:00 PM ET, which offers an inside look at the ordeal of a football star who had to relearn the skills that once made him a standout player.
NFL Network’s chief correspondent for player health and safety, Andrea Kremer, was granted exclusive access to be with Revis – the 2009 AFC Defensive Player of the Year and considered by many to be the best cornerback in the league – through the last 11 months, which was the focus of NFL Network’s Health of the Game: Project Revis series that aired from November, 2012 through July, 2013. Kremer was with Revis at the Week 6 game between the Jets and Indianapolis Colts when he returned to MetLife Stadium as a spectator; in the hospital as he went into surgery; as he rehabbed at the Jets facility, in Arizona and in Tampa; with his family in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania; and on September 8, 2013 when Revis and the Buccaneers opened the 2013 season against his former team, the Jets, at MetLife Stadium.
Revis is just the third player to be profiled while they were playing in the three seasons of NFL Network’s A Football Life (Tim Tebow and Ray Lewis, 2012).
