Train to Perform at 2013 Pro Bowl Presented By McDonald’s

To kick off the week leading up to Super Bowl XLVII, the chart-topping band TRAIN will perform in the pregame show before the 2013 PRO BOWL PRESENTED BY MCDONALD’S, the NFL announced today.

The 2013 Pro Bowl presented by McDonald’s will be played on Sunday, January 27 and televised live on NBC at 7:00 PM ET from Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii one week before Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans on Sunday, February 3.

Before the 2013 Pro Bowl begins, three-time Grammy Award winning pop rock band Train will perform their multi-platinum-certified international hit “Hey Soul Sister” with 600 ukulele players, and “Mermaid” featuring hula dancers, Hawaiian drummers and the Pro Bowl Cheerleaders. The performance celebrates the 2012 NFL season and salutes the fans. The show also will pay tribute to many of the league’s greatest players and kick off the Super Bowl week festivities featuring hundreds of performers, dancers, the Pro Bowl cheerleaders and mascots.

The Pro Bowl had been played annually since 1980 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii, with the exception of 2010, when it was played at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida.

The AFC and NFC squads are each comprised of 42 players with 21 offensive and 17 defensive players plus four specialists. A 43rd “need” player will be chosen by the head coach and must be a cornerback, defensive end, linebacker or long snapper. The coaching staffs of the losing teams in the AFC and NFC Divisional playoffs with the best regular season record will serve as the coaching staffs of the AFC and NFC teams.
