2nd-most watched show in Boston, topping all broadcast nets
Part II of “A Football Life: Bill Belichick” debuts next Thursday, Sept. 22 at 10:00 PM ET
Last night’s debut of A Football Life: Bill Belichick on NFL Network was viewed by an average of 657,000 fans to rank as the most watched documentary in the eight-year history of the network. In addition, 252,000 average viewers tuned in to the 10:00 PM ET encore of the show.
Locally, the show was the second-most watched program in the time period in Boston with 151,000 average viewers, topping all of the broadcast networks. Rays-Red Sox baseball ranked first.
Belichick made history in the NFL Films-produced A Football Life by becoming the only coach ever to be wired for sound for an entire NFL season in 2009. That season marked Belichick’s 35th consecutive year in the NFL and the Patriots’ 50th Anniversary season.
