Jets owner Woody Johnson to be honored tonight by 9/11 Memorial group

New York Jets owner and CEO Woody Johnson (left) tonight will be honored before approximately 1,000 guests by the 9/11 Memorial organization at a Wall Street event to benefit the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

Johnson is being recognized for “Distinction in Corporate Citizenship.” New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is the Chairman of the 9/11 Memorial and will host tonight’s benefit which is expected to raise $3 million.

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center is scheduled to open September 11, 2012 and Museum officials expect it to draw seven million visitors a year. It will bear witness to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993. The Museum will honor the nearly 3,000 victims of these attacks and all those who risked their lives to save others.
