While the Patriots have opened training camp to begin their quest for Super Bowl XLV, the Robert Kraft family and the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation today kicked off another season-long initiative: cancer awareness.

“Throughout the week of August 1, Foundation partners will distribute information and host events to educate fans attending training camp about common cancers,” the team announced.

The Kraft Family Blood Donor Center at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the largest blood platelet collection centers and leading cancer research facilities in the world, will be onsite on Monday. The team’s foundation will focus on a specific cancer each day (listed below) inviting benefactors and patients to practices, distributing information and conducting screenings.

Monday, August 2 – Multiple Myeloma Awareness
Tuesday, August 3 – Prostate Cancer Awareness
Wednesday, August 4 – Skin Cancer Awareness
Thursday, August 5 – Breast Cancer Awareness
Friday, August 6 – Ovarian Cancer Awareness

Throughout Patriots training camp, the Caitlin Raymond International Registry will be on-site during every open practice to educate fans about the importance of donating bone marrow or blood stem cells. They will also help fans complete the quick process of joining the bone marrow donor registry.
